# drop

Delete `fields` from each log event that passes through it, useful for removing sensitive & bloated data when the list of fields is static.  Will mutate the given LogEvent object by performing a `delete` for given fields.  Use the [js plugin](./js) if a less blunt method is required.

## Config

**Required:**
- `fields`: Array of field names to remove from events

## Example

```yaml
pipeline:
  drop:
    config:
      fields:
        - _agg
        - password
        - large
        - debug_info
```
